Audio licensing
Only the applicable policy explicitly assigned to a product covers that recording. Earlier acquisitions retain their recorded terms.
Free Audio Attribution License
Version 1.0. Policy ID: aap-audio-free-v1.
Licensor: Kyle Hinton, operating as Audio at Play
Attribution
Attribution is required, including after editing. Credit the public author supplied on the product and direct the audience to Audio at Play using the completed credit line supplied with the acquisition: "Sound by {the product's confirmed public author} via Audio at Play - https://audioatplay.ca". Place it in the production credits, description or accompanying documentation. Include a clickable https://audioatplay.ca link wherever that placement supports links. Both the author and Audio at Play reference are required. A free recording without a confirmed public author is not ready for assignment to this policy.
Licensor, covered recordings and licensee
The licensor is the legal person or company identified in this policy's approval record and displayed with these terms. This license covers only original audio recordings explicitly assigned this policy after the licensor confirms the necessary rights. The licensee is the acquiring person or company identified when accepting these terms, including when an authorized person or agent acquires for that licensee. Copyright remains with the applicable rights holder; this license does not transfer copyright.
Production use
The licensee may use the covered recordings worldwide, on a non-exclusive, perpetual basis, in multiple commercial and non-commercial games, apps, films, music, podcasts, advertisements and client productions, without additional per-project royalties. Paid recordings require a valid purchase. Free recordings require authorized acquisition under these terms.
Editing and embedded playback
The licensee may trim, process, edit, layer and remix the recordings for those productions, including embedded and runtime playback in games and apps. The licensee may distribute recordings as an integrated part of a production. This does not permit providing the recordings as a reusable audio library or as independently downloadable assets.
Teams, contractors and clients
Employees and contractors may access the recordings only to work on the licensee's authorized productions and may not keep or use them for independent projects. The licensee remains responsible for those uses. Clients may receive and distribute completed productions containing integrated audio. A client or contractor who needs raw recordings, reusable source assets or an editable project for independent reuse must acquire a separate license. Delivery of a completed production does not transfer this license or copyright.
Standalone redistribution
The licensee may not sell, share, sublicense or redistribute original or modified recordings as standalone assets, competing sample libraries or datasets. Format conversion, editing or simple processing does not remove this restriction. Soundboards, sample instruments and products primarily supplying reusable audio require separate written permission.
Authorized agents
An authorized agent may select, acquire, download, edit and integrate recordings on behalf of the licensee under the same rights and restrictions. The acquiring party must have authority to accept these terms for the identified licensee. API access and wallet control prove neither spending authorization nor authority to accept legal terms for another party.
Model training
Using the recordings to train, fine-tune or improve models, or including them in training datasets, requires separate written permission. Automated selection, editing and integration into a production do not grant model-training rights.
Exclusions
Third-party recordings, third-party music, voices, performances and other captured material are not automatically cleared by this policy. Externally fulfilled products, software, Max for Live devices, instruments and other products outside the assigned original-audio recordings require their own applicable terms.
Versions and earlier acquisitions
The policy ID, version, terms URL and acceptance evidence supplied for an acquisition are retained with that acquisition. A later policy or product edit does not silently replace them. Earlier purchases, downloads and prepared quotes retain their recorded terms; missing historical evidence is not treated as acceptance of this policy.
Paid Audio License
Version 1.0. Policy ID: aap-audio-paid-v1.
Licensor: Kyle Hinton, operating as Audio at Play
Attribution
Attribution is optional. A voluntary credit may name the product's public credited author and link to Audio at Play at https://audioatplay.ca.

Proposed Paid Audio License
Historical draft version 1.0-draft.2. Policy ID: aap-audio-paid-v1-draft.
This proposal grants no current usage rights.
Attribution
Attribution would be optional for paid sounds. Voluntary credit may use the Audio at Play credit line below.
Scope and licensee
The proposed license would apply only to original audio recordings explicitly assigned this policy after approval and rights review. The licensee would be the purchasing or authorized acquiring person or company, including when an agent acts for that customer. Copyright ownership would remain with the applicable rights holder.
Production use
The proposal would allow worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual use in multiple commercial and non-commercial games, apps, films, music, podcasts, advertisements and client productions, without additional per-project royalties. Paid sounds would still require a valid purchase. Free sounds would still require authorized acquisition under the applicable terms.
Editing and embedded playback
The proposal would allow trimming, processing, layering and remixing within those productions, including runtime playback inside games and apps. Distribution as part of the production would be allowed; exposing the sound files as a downloadable library would not be allowed.
Teams and client work
Employees and contractors could access files only to work on the licensee's authorized projects. Clients could receive completed productions. Raw files could not be transferred for a different person's independent use under the licensee's acquisition.
Standalone files and competing libraries
The proposal would not allow selling, sharing, sublicensing or redistributing the original or modified recordings as standalone assets, competing sample libraries or datasets. A change of format or simple processing would not remove this restriction. Soundboards, sample instruments and products primarily supplying reusable audio would require separate permission.
Agent-assisted work
Authorized agents could discover, acquire, download, edit and integrate recordings for the licensee under the same project rights. API authentication and a wallet signature would not independently authorize spending, grant audio rights, or make the agent the legal licensee.
Model training and datasets
Training, fine-tuning or improving models with these recordings, and distributing them in training datasets, would require separate written permission. Permission for automated selection and production editing would not itself grant model-training rights.
Third-party and software products
Third-party or externally fulfilled products would retain their actual applicable terms. Max for Live devices, software and other non-audio-file products would require separately reviewed terms. This proposal would not establish rights in third-party music, voices, performances or other material captured in a recording.
Versions and existing acquisitions
An approved policy would have a stable identifier, version and terms reference. The version supplied for a future acquisition should be retained. This draft would not retroactively replace terms for earlier purchases, downloads or prepared quotes.
Proposed Free Audio Attribution License
Historical draft version 1.0-draft.2. Policy ID: aap-audio-free-v1-draft.
This proposal grants no current usage rights.
Attribution
Attribution would be required for free sounds, naming the product's credited author and directing to Audio at Play. Include 'Sound by [Author] via Audio at Play - https://audioatplay.ca' in the production credits, description or accompanying documentation, replacing [Author] with the public author credit supplied on the product. Link to https://audioatplay.ca wherever clickable links are supported. If the author credit is missing, obtain it before use; do not substitute an account ID or guess a name. Editing a free sound would not remove either attribution condition.
